Someone to talk to, in full confidence.

No pressure, no obligation. A first message is just a question.

Your therapist, verified

A qualification you don't have to take our word for.

Bangkok has a wide range of counselors and psychotherapists, some highly qualified, some not. We've seen practitioners in this city claim credentials they don't hold. A real license is checkable, so ask to see it, from us or anyone else you're considering.

Before you choose a therapist, ask for a link to their licensing board and check it yourself. If they won't provide one, treat that as a warning sign.

Lighthouse Human Services & Counseling is officially approved to offer counseling and psychological services in Bangkok, Thailand.

Privacy, plainly stated

What you tell us stays with us.

Reaching out to a therapist is already a hard step. Worrying about who might find out shouldn't make it harder. Confidentiality isn't a footnote here, it's the foundation everything else is built on.

  • Bound by professional ethics, not just good intentions

What you share in session is protected under the same professional confidentiality standards that govern licensed psychologists and counselors, not left to informal discretion.

  • No disclosure to employers, family, or insurers

We don't confirm to anyone, including family members or employers, that you're a client here, and we don't share session content without your written consent.

  • Discretion for a small city

Bangkok's expat and local professional circles are smaller than they feel. Appointments, correspondence, and records are handled with that in mind, not treated as routine paperwork.

  • The rare exceptions, explained upfront

Like any licensed practitioner, there are narrow, legally defined situations (such as imminent risk of serious harm) where confidentiality has limits. We'll explain exactly what those are before your first session, not bury them in small print.

If you'd rather not share your full name at first, that's fine, tell us what to call you and we'll go from there.

Before you reach out

What actually happens next.

Not knowing what you're walking into is its own kind of stressful. Here's the whole process, no hidden steps.

  1. 1

    Send a message or call

Tell us as much or as little as you're comfortable with. This step doesn't commit you to booking anything.

  2. 2

A short reply, from a person

We'll get back to you to answer questions and see whether we're a reasonable fit, before any session is scheduled.

  3. 3

Book a first session, if it feels right

Fees, format, and scheduling are discussed directly, nothing is sprung on you after the fact.

Before you ask

A few common questions.

How do I know you're actually licensed?

Ask us directly and we'll point you to the licensing bodies where you can check, we'd rather you verify than take our word for it. See Dr. Mason's credentials.

Do you work with teens?

Yes. We see clients from around age six through sixty and beyond, with particular depth working with teens and young adults.

What if I've never been to therapy before?

That's most people who reach out to us. You don't need a diagnosis or a crisis to start, plenty of people come in with a "bump in the road" and just want someone to talk it through with.

What languages do you offer therapy in?

Sessions are in English. Dr. Mason also speaks German and Thai.

Is anything I say kept confidential?

Yes, that's covered in detail in the confidentiality section above, including the rare, legally defined exceptions.
